       Importance of punctuality and attendance.

Homework

Numeracy Homework will build on the work they have done each week in class. Please let them use the methods they have learned at school. It will be given out on a Tuesday and needs to be done for Friday.

Literacy homework will be spellings. Spellings will be sent home on a Monday and tested on a Friday.

The Learning Log is for you and your child to choose five activities that you wish to complete each half term. There will be a range of fun and enriching activities linked to the class topics.

Working together

If you have any knowledge or experience of some of our Topics and would like to come in and give a talk or take part in a workshop this year we would love to hear from you and work together. Some of our topics will be health and growth, the weather, the historic house ‘Dunham Massey’, comparing towns to the countryside, growing plants, past and present queens and also comparing a holiday in the Lake District with a holiday in Nairobi national park in Kenya.  We really value parental involvement and will be inviting you to come in to look at the children’s work, take part in quizzes and even drink a healthy smoothie! If you can spare the time to share any of your skills or experiences then please do!

We also welcome you to come to our class Mass and collective worship in school.  You will receive invitations to come and join us.

By reading at home with your child every day you are having a very positive impact. Please carry on, it’s really making a difference.  When they have read the book please ask them questions to make sure they understand what they have read.

In Numeracy practice the 2, 5 and 10 times tables with your children. When they are confident try the 3 and 4 times tables.

Early to bed

Please make sure that the children get at least 11 hours unbroken sleep every night.  Plenty of sleep, a healthy diet and regular exercise will help the children get the most out of school.

It may be a good idea to remove mobile phones, computers, games and TVs from their bedrooms on school nights.

Many thanks for all your continued support and please do speak to me after school if you have any questions at all.
